A downloadable Demake for Windows, macOS, and Linux

A gameboy demake of Darkest Dungeon, by Red Hook Studios.
Made by a team in a few weeks, for Mini Ludum Dare 50.

Fun Fact: This demake was made well before the original was released. We reverse-engineered the gameplay based on early promotional videos and screenshots. Ended up surprisingly accurate IMO!

Very fun demake! Really captured the vibe of DD. Love the simple combat system. Brutal RNG, just like the original!

I downloaded the game and ran it using the Java version you linked, Version 8. It showed me a Sartre quote then did nothing.

I also notice that Version 8 is not the latest version of Java. Is the link wrong?

Hmm! Assuming you pressed a key to move past that screen... hard to say what the issue is, if the game is booting normally?

Java 8 is the latest version for legacy programs (like this), and worked fine on Win 10 and Ubuntu. Newer versions of Java should still be backwards compatible though, so if you install one, let me know if it helps!
